Welcome to Gypsum Hollow!
Hello, my name is Chelsea.
Raised in West Virginia—my home among the hills—nature is my greatest inspiration. As a self-taught electroforming artist and jewelry designer, I am always testing new techniques to continue honing my skills and evolving with my craft. I aspire to create wearable art enabling one to rock their magick and (re)connect with nature.
I grew up in Bridgeport, WV before attending WVU, where I studied Cultural Anthropology and Sociology. I studied abroad for a year in Sweden where I focused on Nordic Culture and international studies. After receiving my B.A. in 2011, I went straight into the workforce.
Jewelry design and beading started as a hobby, but it quickly (electro)formed into a true passion after discovering the medium of electroforming! Then, Gypsum Hollow was born in January 2017. Shortly after forming my new business, I had the opportunity to quit my job and pursue my artistry full-time.
The process begins with a series of design and preparation phases for each piece. This can take up to a week to complete. Organic items of any variety can be used or added to each creation—including but not limited to raw crystals, twigs, acorns, and leaves immortalized in copper. I also enjoy working with artisan cut cabochons to create truly unique, one-of-a-kind designs.
I look forward to every opportunity to create more wearable art showcasing some of the beauty mother nature has to offer. I hope to share the inspiration I find in nature’s splendor with you and am so thankful to you for your interest in Gypsum Hollow, LLC. Keep checking back for more and don’t be afraid to live a colorful life!
